Situated close to the River Cher, the house is within easy reach of the great chateaux of the Loire Valley. Chenonceaux, Cheverny, Chambord, Valençay, Amboise, all spectacular, but just as impressive are the small less well known chateaux dotted around the area.

Right on the door step of the ‘route de vignobles,’ wine tasting is just a walk up the hill, where you find local wine producers amongst the stunning vineyards.

The medieval towns of St. Aignan, Bléré and Montrichard have amazing restaurants and lovely shops in cobbled streets. Plenty of antique/brocante shops if you’re looking for a bargain!
The local market at Selles -sur- Cher is a must and also the amazing flower market in Tours.     Vouvray is worth a visit for its superb wine & to see the wine stored in ‘real’ caves.

Bike & kayak hire at nearby Selles gives you a chance to explore the surrounding area. You will find secluded beaches on the river, teeming with wildlife, an ideal place for a picnic!

A must for adults and children is Blois. The chic boutiques and shoe shops making it shopping heaven!

In the square by the chateau, you can sit outside the cafés and watch the golden dragons appearing from the magic museum, on the hour. They are fascinating!
